The Brief – Simple

The Style – Elegant!

The Paper – Henna Pink 176 gsm board (on sale http://bit.ly/bEl0zQ)

The Method:

1. cut the a4 paper in half so that each piece is 21 x 14.8 cm

2. to print: – set you paper size 14.8 cm wide x 21 cm high
                       - set the bottom margin to 2 cm and all others to 1cm
                       – set your text & add a feature line on the bottom of the page 
                       – test print on a plain piece of paper
                       - print on the blank side

3. when you have printed the sheet – cut 1cm off the bottom
                          (so it fits into the envelope)

4. short fold so you can see the feature text on the bottom
  You’re done!!

Adding your own personal touch is super easy with SoHo products.  They are covered in paper so sticking labels, shapes, fabric, paper cut outs is easy and l will last! 

Last week I added a Social Media Women logo to A4 and A5 notebooks for my co-founder Catriona Pollard     and had such a great reaction from our online community I thought I would share some more things I have done: 

The Address Books needed a little something something – so i cut out some retro flowers and layered them and stuck them down.  This is a really gorgeous idea for a gift, you can choose themes and colours that the receiver loves! 

There are Corporate applications too! Once upon a time not so long ago, you had to order a lot of one item to have your logo or name on it – not any more!! You can customise one item. 

Adding a project title or business name to a folder and notebook is as easy as grabbing some good double sided tape.  

For Social Media Women, I created a folder, a photobox (for business cards and tickets for our lucky door prize) and the notebooks: 

Chocolate is such a luscious colour, and I wanted to give it some olde worlde charm so created these torn-edge labels for the notebook and rounded spine folder.

• Colour - is easy, she loves purple in all its shades!!
• Inspiration- we have great shapes in our range and what says ‘I Love You’ more than a heart right??

• Tools - heart shapes, little hole punch, fastener

• Method - this would have looked just as nice using all one colour but I wanted to mix it up:

- stack hearts together and punch through the bottom so the hole is in the same place. If you need to do 2 stacks, punch one stack and then place one punched shape over the un-punched stand and mark the position of the hole.

- use fastener to anchor them together

SEND THE LOVE TIP!

In the same way that we will send an SMS when we think of something someone would like to know or take a pic on our phone and post it immediately online, it is nice to send a little note or long letter to the people we love and cherish when they pop into our thoughts, at that very moment.

If the thought of going to ‘all the trouble’ of getting an envelope, looking up their address and writing it out is all too overwhelming (c’mon, it is for some!) then we have a great TIP that will help you!! 

Pre-prepare your envelopes with names & addresses in bulk.

Ok so you still think this is a bit of a ‘chore’?
We have thought of that too!!
We love using mail merge to print off our envelopes.  Don’t forget to put your address in the top left hand corner of the front then you only need to print one side and you are ready to go!!

Then when you get the urge to share a thought or send some ?, you are ready to go!!

LAST TIP for the road:
Buy a pack of cards/envelopes all the same size and then you can pick the card to match the message when you get the urge, too easy!!

Remember:

Sending a little note that says as little as ”Hello, sending you some sunshine, Love Me ? x ? x” is all someone needs to put a smile on their face and a glow in their heart!!
